While most work is left to do, we’ve happily seen rare expansion for mainstream transgender prominence in a past several years. Now, it’s time to once again respect those who are doing fighting to make this prominence possible.

The Trans 100

“It has been an extraordinary year for us during The Trans 100. Every year, a assignment list gets longer and a preference routine harder,” Crispin Torres, co-director of The Trans 100, pronounced in a matter sent to The Huffington Post. “We are saying a strange prophesy of a trans 100 come to life: That if trans folks start saying some-more folks like themselves out in a world, not only surviving, though thriving, we can flip a book from trans presence to trans empowerment.”

A press recover for The 2015 Trans 100 notes:

The Trans 100 is not an endowment ceremony. It is not a list of a “Best” or a “Most Important” trans people. It is not a recognition competition and there are many people absent from a list who are doing glorious work. More are no longer with us.

To quote The Trans 100 Co-Founder Jen Richards, The Trans 100 “is an intentionally curated list of out trans people who are operative on trans issues in a United States and carrying a certain impact.”

The Trans 100 2015 event, that took place in Chicago on Sunday night, was hosted by opening artist and teacher Precious Davis and teacher and romantic Myles Brady. It enclosed keynote speeches given by “The Matrix” and “Cloud Atlas” co-director Lana Wachowski and media disciple and strategist Tiq Milan, and featured performances by musician and Against Me! lead thespian Laura Jane Grace and hip-hop rapper Rocco Katastrophe.
