Captain Marvel is flying into theaters in just under two months, finally giving us answers to some our most burning MCU questions. One of which will be how she will meet up with the Avengers after the events in Infinity War.
Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), may have just spoiled the surprise ahead of schedule. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the upcoming movie, the actor dropped a huge piece of information.
She’s pretty much the strongest character — in terms of someone with powers are able to do things — in the Marvel universe. So, for Carol Danvers to be that person and for Brie to become that person, it’s gonna be a dynamite thing. I mean, [the Avengers] are up against some really, really tough odds right now — we saw throughout Infinity War — so now we know that we need something that’s as powerful as Thanos. And at some point, we’ll find out how powerful she is and all the things that she’s capable of. She’s one of the few people in the Marvel universe that can time travel, so…
You read that right, Captain Marvel can apparently travel through time. As you may recall, a big plot device that’s going to be used in Avengers: Endgame is time travel, allowing the Avengers to stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones. It seems very useful that one of the new members of the team will be able to do this at will.
Then again, we don’t really know where Captain Marvel is when Infinity War takes place. She may just be kicking it in the ’90s, which could explain why Nick Fury uses a beeper to page her in the movie’s post credit scene. Or she could be on a cosmic adventure in a different universe.
Sadly, we won’t get answers to these questions until Captain Marvel graces the big screen on March 8.
