May confirms ex-New Democrat Pierre Nantel is using as a Green candidate

It’s official: former NDP MP Pierre Nantel is switching teams and using for a Greens in a sovereign election.

The New Democrats announced Friday that they had private Nantel as their claimant for Longueuil–Saint-Hubert, following what a celebration called “confirmed reports” that he was “is in discussions with another celebration to run underneath their banner.”

On Monday, Green Party Leader Elizabeth May reliable Nantel will be using as a Green candidate. 

“Pierre Nantel is a meridian leader, and he is one of a many ardent MPs we have encountered in a House of Commons,” pronounced May in a statement.

His switch seems to have come as a startle to his former party.

NDP deputy personality Alexandre Boulerice pronounced he had a brief review with Nantel final week, during that he talked about a issue of climate change, that is a pivotal partial of a NDP’s platform.

“It’s not a good day for a NDP,” Boulerice pronounced Friday. “I don’t know a reasons or a motivations of Pierre.”

Nantel was initial inaugurated in 2011 as partial of a NDP’s ‘orange wave’ in Quebec. He was narrowly re-elected in 2015, violence a Liberal claimant by reduction than 700 votes.
