BCE offers $16 a share to buy AlarmForce

Telecom firm BCE Inc. is charity to buy home confidence firm AlarmForce Industries Inc. for $166 million.

The deal, announced after batch markets sealed on Monday, would see BCE offer $16 a share for AlarmForce, one of Canada’s heading home confidence firms with 100,000 business for services such as intrusion alarms and smoke, inundate and CO monoxide detection.

George Cope, CEO of BCE and Bell Canada, says a merger will allow Bell to precedence a network in millions of Canadian homes in sequence to grow a position in confidence and automation services.

“It’s a healthy subsequent step for Bell as one of Canada’s many devoted brands in residential services,” Cope said.

Bell’s vital opposition Rogers is already a actor in a home confidence space by a Smart Home Monitoring service.

At $16 a share, Bell’s offer is a 71 per cent reward to where a shares were on Monday before a understanding was announced. In lieu of cash, AlarmForce shareholders can elect to accept their remuneration in a form of BCE shares.
