Alibaba sole some-more on ‘Singles Day’ this year than Black Friday and Cyber Monday put together

Chinese consumers have spent billions of dollars selling online for anything from diapers to diamonds on “Singles Day,” a day of promotions that has grown into a world’s biggest e-commerce event.

China’s largest e-commerce giant, Alibaba Group, pronounced Sunday sales by a thousands of retailers on a platforms for a 24-hour duration on Saturday amounted to 168.3 billion yuan ($25.3 billion US), environment a new record for a company.
