President Trump on Saturday rescinded Golden State Warrior star Stephen Curry\u2019s invitation to the White House, after Curry suggested he doesn\u2019t want to go to the Washington event that will honor his team\u2019s 2016-2017 NBA championship.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Curry told ESPN that he doesn\u2019t want to go the White House event but that the team will decide collectively.<\/p>\n
He also seemed to suggest that not going would be part of the resist-Trump movement, saying the move would give the Warriors \u201can opportunity to send a statement that hopefully encourages unity, encourages us to appreciate what it means to be American, and stand for something.\u201d<\/p>\n
Whether Trump has rescinded just Curry or the entire team\u2019s invitation is unclear.<\/p>\n
Championship-winning teams attending the White House ceremony has become an increasingly political issue since Trump became president.<\/p>\n
