Gaga was one of dozens of artists who joined the coalition, founded by Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon-Ono, which sought to stop New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo from allowing fracking in the state. The organization\u2019s website has since gone inactive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing exposes Joe Biden\u2019s disdain for the forgotten working men and women of Pennsylvania like campaigning with anti-fracking activist Lady Gaga,\u201d Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh said in a statement. \u201cThis desperate effort to drum up enthusiasm for his lackluster candidacy is actually a sharp stick in the eye for 600,000 Pennsylvanians who work in the fracking industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">BIDEN-BACKED FRACKING POLICY COULD DERAIL AMERICA&#8217;S ECONOMIC RECOVERY<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fracking has emerged as a key point of contention in Pennsylvania, with President Trump arguing that Biden will pursue a ban of the practice and cost workers in the local energy sector their jobs. Biden has denied seeking a ban and said he would halt the issuing of new oil and gas permits on federal land, but would not revoke existing permits or stop fracking conducted on private or state-owned land.<\/p>\n<p>Trump addressed Gaga\u2019s appearance on Biden\u2019s behalf on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust learned that Sleepy Joe Biden is campaigning in Pennsylvania with Lady Gaga, a proud member of \u201cArtists Against Fracking,\u201d Trump wrote. \u201cThis is more proof that he would ban Fracking and skyrocket your energy prices&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gaga fired back at the Trump campaign\u2019s criticism, quote-tweeting Murtaugh\u2019s post and writing that she was \u201cglad to be living rent free in your head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">TRUMP RIPS BIDEN ON FRACKING, ENERGY POLICY: &#8216;GET USED TO NO AIR CONDITIONING&#8217;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, what is a fracking? Keep your jobs PA\u2026.,\u201d she wrote in a separate video message.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has stepped up his criticism of Biden\u2019s energy policies since the final presidential debate, when the former vice president acknowledged that he would pursue a \u201ctransition\u201d from fossil fuels \u201cbecause the\u00a0<a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">oil industry<\/a>\u00a0pollutes significantly.\u201d His energy plan calls\u00a0for the U.S. to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBasically what he is saying is he is going to destroy the oil industry,\u201d Trump said in response during the debate. \u201cWill you remember that, Texas?
