Kelly\u00a0Loeffler, R-Ga., sold off $46,027 worth of stock in an online\u00a0<a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">travel<\/a>\u00a0company\u00a0days after the shares were purchased and just\u00a0before <a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">President Trump<\/a>\u00a0restricted most travel from\u00a0Europe\u00a0to the United States amid the <a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0pandemic, according to a new report.<\/p>\n<p>Trump announced on March 11\u00a0that the U.S. was\u00a0suspending most travel\u00a0from Europe into the U.S. for 30 days in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>On March 10 and 11,\u00a0Loeffler\u00a0sold her shares in Booking Holdings, which facilities online bookings for travel services, flights and hotels.\u00a0Those shares\u00a0had been purchased March 6 &#8212; the day she visited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta with President Trump to be updated on the fast-spreading virus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">Bloomberg first reported<\/a> on the stock trades, which were disclosed by Loeffler&#8217;s office<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">CLICK HERE FOR FOX NEWS&#8217; COMPLETE CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The travel and airline industries have been virtually wiped out by the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe, which has forced governments to issue stay-at-home orders for billions of people around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Loeffler\u00a0had purchased the shares with her husband,\u00a0Jeffrey Sprecher, who is\u00a0chairman of the New York Stock Exchange and whose\u00a0net worth is said to be north of $500 million.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wordpressdynamos.com\/timesofnewscdn\/USA\/81beb_image.jpg\" alt=\"Documents show Sen. Loeffler sold more than $20 million in stocks ahead coronavirus crisis\" \/><span class=\"overlay\">Video<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Loeffler and her husband also\u00a0sold stock on Jan. 24 &#8212; the same day she sat in on a briefing from two members of President Trump\u2019s Coronavirus Task Force, according to a Daily Beast report.<\/p>\n<p>Between that day and Feb. 14, the couple sold shares worth\u00a0between $1.2 million and $3.1 million, the report said. They also purchased stock in a maker of software that helps people work at home &#8212;\u00a0just before millions of Americans were forced to leave their offices because of the outbreak, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>Loeffler denied claims of wrongdoing during a recent appearance on\u00a0Fox News&#8217; &#8220;America&#8217;s Newsroom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If\u00a0you actually look at the personal transaction reports that were filed, it notices at the bottom that I&#8217;m only informed of my transactions after they occur &#8212; several weeks,&#8221; she said. &#8220;So, certainly, those transactions &#8212; at least on my behalf &#8212; were a mix of buys and sells. Very routine for my portfolio.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wordpressdynamos.com\/timesofnewscdn\/USA\/afed4_image.jpg\" alt=\"Sen. Kelly Loeffler denies allegations of insider trading\" \/><span class=\"overlay\">Video<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer stock portfolio is managed independently by third-party advisors,\u201d spokeswoman Kerry Rom told The Associated Press this week. \u201cSen. Loeffler continues to operate with integrity and transparency &#8212; following both the spirit and the letter of the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Loeffler has faced additional scrutiny following the\u00a0mandatory disclosure filed Tuesday, and after she and\u00a0Sprecher sold off substantial portions of their portfolio last month, as well.<\/p>\n<p>According to the filing, across four transactions in late February and early March,\u00a0Sprecher purchased between about $166,000 and $415,000 in DuPont stock. DuPont says it is &#8220;working around the clock in all parts of the world to increase capacity of protective garments during this time of high demand&#8221; amid the coronavirus outbreak, according to its website.<\/p>\n<p>The couple also purchased up to $50,000 in Amazon stock,\u00a0$250,000 in Chevron stock and $350,000 in CME stocks, according to the disclosure. They simultaneously sold off between $100,000 and $250,000 worth of\u00a0DocuSign shares and up to $150,000 in Facebook stock, as well as holdings in retail stores including Lululemon, TJ Maxx and Ross.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">SCHUMER WANTS ETHICS PROBES OVER PRE-CORONAVIRUS STOCK SALES BY BURR, FEINSTEIN, OTHERS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Loeffler\u00a0is one of a handful of\u00a0senators who are facing criticism amid stock selloffs ahead of the coronavirus crisis, which has seen the stock market tank in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman <a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">Richard Burr<\/a>, R-N.C., is reportedly being investigated by the Justice Department over his sale\u00a0of as much as $1.7 million in stocks in the run-up to the coronavirus crisis. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is also said to be involved, and the\u00a0FBI has reportedly reached out to Burr for information.<\/p>\n<p>According to ProPublica, Burr used more than 30 transactions to dump between $628,000 and $1.72 million on Feb. 13.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">CLICK HERE FOR COMPLETE CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and her husband reportedly sold between $1.5 million and $6 million in stock in California biotech company Allogene Therapeutics, between Jan. 31 and Feb. 18, The New York Times had reported.<\/p>\n<p>And\u00a0Sen.
