Working Title

Are you ready for a fur-tastic experience?

“Cats” the musical dropped its first trailer Thursday and made an immediate splash on the Internet, with viewers divided over whether the Andrew Lloyd Webber adaptation looks feline fabulous, or … more fur-ightning.

Taylor Swift, whose cat Bombalurina is shown reclining and enjoying Catnip in the footage, announced the trailer had dropped Thursday — a day before it was scheduled to be released.

“I’m a cat now and somehow that was everything #Catsmovie” Swift tweeted.

Directed by Tom Hooper, the first trailer introduces a major cast which includes Jennifer Hudson as Grizabella, Judi Dench as Old Deuteronomy, Idris Elba as Macavity and James Corden as Bustopher Jones.

How did social media react?

Well … not everyone loved it

“Becoming a vet just so I can put this down,” wrote Twitter user @hordie

Judi Dench’s long ‘Cats’ history: Dench turns ‘Cats’ catastrophe into triumph playing Old Deuteronomy in movie version

“Just watched the CATS trailer, how do i unwatch the CATS trailer,” wrote Twitter user @jacksfilms

“Just texted the CATS trailer to my ex. He deserves it,” wrote @megsokay.

“Every cat should be hiring a publicist right now at this very moment,” wrote Twitter user @hunteryharris.

But others were clear ‘Cats’ fans

“Me getting ready to see Cats on opening day,” wrote @LucieEbrey.

“ALL CATS ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT THIS CAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL,” wrote @ohsoitgoes13, toasting Swift.

“Wow so excited for the new #cats movie!” wrote @Nerf_Herder22, noting the all-star cast.

Could this musical even bring a divided country together?

User @scottbix thought so. “Tonight, the ‘CATS’ trailer heals a nation,” he joked.

“WHY TOM HOOPER’S CATS WILL UNITE A FRACTURED WORLD AND SAVE US ALL: A VIDEO ESSAY,” opined @thelindsayellis.

“Cats” hits theaters on Dec. 19.
