The best part, though, is how the multiplayer works. While some Switch games require the use of an outside app, you can pop into a game just like you do in any other platform, according to a statement from Psyonix to VentureBeat. Further, you’ll be able to play with anyone playing on Xbox One or PC. That means that right from day one, we’ll have a huge group of people to play with. This is one of the very first cross-platform multiplayer games that pulls in not just PC but other consoles, right alongside Minecraft. Like that game, though, PlayStation 4 hasn’t joined the fray yet, for whatever reason.
As if we didn’t already have enough great reasons to pick up a Switch, play-anywhere Rocket League with cross-platform play is just a cherry on top of an already appealing dessert.
Rocket League hits Switch on November 14, 2017.
