Walking 6-7 hours a day, even when mostly level, is not utterly a wander in a park. Pilgrims everywhere, who travel a Camino for different reasons: for some it is religious, for others spiritual; for some it is to reanimate from a detriment or illness, or misfortune; or a transition in their lives or work; families travel to move them close; artists of all forms travel to find a voice that eludes them, to find their muse; some hunt for self-acceptance, an fugitive nonetheless essential state of mind; and for some, it is like a American Appalachian trail, a stately adventure.
