If you happen across a photo of Sen. Ben Sasse on a dating site, just know that he’s not responsible for it.
The Nebraska Republican tweeted Monday that someone had signed him up on multiple dating sites.
“Thanks, but no thx. (I checked with my wife, and she says we’re still good),” he said.
To whoever spent your Sunday signing me up for dating websites:
Thanks, but no thx. (I checked with my wife, and she says we’re still good.)— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) October 23, 2017
Sasse, for the record, is married to Melissa Sasse, and they have three children.
Spokesman James Wegmann declined to elaborate on the details, like which sites the senator was signed up for or if he knew who was behind the ruse.
“(We)Â knew something was up when the senator received multiple emails ‘confirming’Â sign up,” Wegmann said in an email.
Dating sites have different signup requirements. While some are linked to social media profiles, such as Tinder and Bumble, others only require an email address.
