HTC schedules launch for November, two new phones expected

The U11 Plus and U11 Life from HTC could be two weeks away from becoming official. There will be “something new” debuting on Thursday, November 2. HTC sent out a tweet Thursday morning saying everyone should save the date to see what’s coming. While the company hasn’t clarified anything beyond the launch date, plenty of signs point to a duo of phones being announced.

HTC is one of the few brands that still lack a phone with an 18:9 aspect ratio for the display. The U11 Plus, however, should change that. The high-end specifications will be similar to the U11 that was introduced back in May, but the new model will have thin bezels around the screen. Recent rumors suggest it’ll feature a 5.99-inch Quad HD+ (2880×1440) display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 with up to 6GB of RAM, a 12MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense.

Missing from the company’s lineup is a serious mid-range phone, and the U11 Life should fill that hole. It’s expected to be an Android One phone with a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, two 16MP cameras, and Edge Sense for squeeze-based actions.

Both phones have been rumored to launch before the end of 2017, so it’s basically all but confirmed they’re what HTC will show next month.
