Magna joins BMW, Intel in self-driving car development

Canadian automobile tools writer Magna International Inc. pronounced on Tuesday it had assimilated a consortium including BMW and Intel Corp to rise a self-driving car height for a use of automobile makers by 2020.

The pierce comes as automakers are increasingly seeking alliances to share a high costs of building self-driving car technology, that requires endless investigate and growth and program imagination outward a normal domain of carmakers.

Magna is a latest further to a BMW-Intel alliance, that aims to rise new record that could put self-driving cars on a highway by around 2021.

The consortium also includes Mobileye, Fiat Chrysler and automobile suppliers Delphi Automotive and Continental AG.

Earlier this year, Intel bought Mobileye, a world’s largest retailer of systems used in automotive collision showing systems, for $15 billion.

Magna will also assistance automakers industrialize a height designed by a consortium, a Canadian association in a statement.
