The Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions, chaired by Aleksander ÄŒeferin, met during a Home of FIFA in Zurich today, 14 Sep 2017. During a meeting, a cabinet discussed a pivotal lessons learnt from a successful FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and was updated about a state of preparations for a 2018 FIFA World Cupâ„¢.
The cabinet authorized a procedures for a Final Draw of a 2018 FIFA World Cup, that will take place in Moscow on 1 Dec 2017, as follows:
Allocation:Â All teams will be allocated to pots 1 to 4 formed on sporting beliefs with any pot containing 8 teams. This means that a Oct 2017 book of a FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be used to allot all competent teams to a 4 pots according to their ranking in forward order, with a best 7 teams along with hosts Russia in pot 1. The element of sketch a teams into a groups will sojourn unchanged. Hence, no teams from a same confederation, with a difference of UEFA, that could have adult to dual teams in a same group, will be drawn into a same group.
Group formation:Â Eight groups of 4 teams will be labelled A to H: a 4 pots will be emptied totally by allocating one of their 8 teams to any of a 8 groups.
