Apple may never want to explicitly reveal how much RAM is in its devices, but that doesn’t mean the information doesn’t exist.
Thanks to the leaked iOS 11 GM firmware this weekend, just how much RAM each of Apple’s three new phones will be packing has been unearthed thanks to developer Steve Troughton-Smith.
RAM
iPhone 8: 2GB
iPhone 8 Plus: 3GB
iPhone X: 3GB— Steve T-S (@stroughtonsmith) September 11, 2017
Apple’s current models have 3GB of RAM in the iPhone 7 Plus while the iPhone 7 has only 2GB. So we won’t be seeing any major upgrades this year when it comes to the RAM capacity of Apple’s devices.
In the day and age of phones launching with 6GB of RAM – such as the OnePlus 5 – this may seem like an odd move. Apple, however, has never been known to be obsessed with the internal specs of its devices.
The Apple event is scheduled to kick off at 10am Pacific/1pm Eastern on Tuesday.
