HTC was one of the first handset makers to confirm that it would be bringing Oreo to its latest devices. Earlier this week, it posted a tweet that confirmed the U11, the U Ultra, and the HTC 10 would be the first in line for the upgrade, with details on other devices to follow later. Now we know that the U11 will be getting Android 8.0 before the end of the year.
“We’re excited to bring Android 8.0 to the HTC U11, U Ultra, 10, beginning with U11 in Q4,†the company tweeted on Thursday. “Stay tuned for more Oreo details new products!â€
Oreo brings a whole bunch of improvements and new features, including picture-in-picture, notification dots, Instant Apps, and background process limits for greater performance. As usual, it will be available to Google’s own Pixel and Nexus devices first, followed by third-party smartphones and tablets.
