Essential Phone will finally start shipping within 7 days

The Essential Phone got its big unveiling in late May, and the company behind it — founded by Android creator Andy Rubin — promised it would begin shipping within 30 days. That didn’t happen, and Essential has been quiet about the handset’s launch ever since. Now it has begun emailing customers to tell them the wait is over.

According to Android Authority, the email states that Essential Phone will begin shipping within 7 days. If you haven’t already ordered yours, you can do so now from Essential.com, and the device will arrive at your door in 2-3 days after shipping begins. The device is priced at $699 on its own, but you can finance it for $29.13 a month over 24 months through Affirm.

The news comes after one Essential executive promised the launch was imminent, and after Best Buy listed the device and confirmed it was “coming soon.” Best Buy, along with Amazon, will be offering the device unlocked at a later date. Sprint is also selling the device as its exclusive carrier partner in the U.S.

Those who ordered the Essential Phone with the 360 Camera add-on will have to wait longer for the camera to arrive, but their smartphone will ship along with all the others. Have you ordered yours yet?
