Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed during an earnings call on Monday that there will be 11 Android smartphones that support the firm’s Daydream VR platform on the market by the end of 2017.
There are currently only a handful of Daydream-compatible handsets to choose from, including the Pixel, Moto Z and Zenfone AR, with Samsung now starting to introduce support for the Galaxy S8.
For those unfamiliar with Daydream, it’s a feature that’s capable of transforming a compatible smartphone into a standalone virtual reality system when it’s connected to a Daydream View controller and headset.
