Enclosed in the handset’s shell, you’ll find a faster Snapdragon 626 processor and a standard configuration of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage — all incremental upgrades. There are, however, options for 3GB and 32GB of storage.
So far, the Moto Z2 Play is shaping up to be a pretty impressive device. Our only qualm? Motorola’s swapped out the impressive 3,510mAh battery found in the original Moto Z Play for a smaller 3,000mAh cell.
Alongside the Moto Z2 Play, Motorola is launching a handful of new Moto Mods, including a TurboPower Pack charger, a JBL SoundBoost 2 and a GamePad that adds physical controls to any compatible Moto Z.
Two variants of the Moto Z2 Play will hit the shelves: one destined for Verizon that’ll be available to purchase in July, and an unlocked version that you’ll be able to pick up directly from Motorola later this summer for $499.
