BMW brings back dormant 8-series with a gorgeous concept

Flanking the impressive front grill are sleek, mean-looking laser headlights. They are a re-thought version of BMW’s classic double halo daytime running lights. The 8-series concept also sports an assertive rear bumper with impressive dual exhaust. Completing the look will be 21-inch wheels with yellow caliper breaks that really pop.

Inside, BMW fully equipped the car with luxury vehicle staples like an all-digital instrument panel, carbon fiber accents and perforated leather seats with a cooling system.

While BMW did not reveal any specifications about the car’s engine, Car and Driver is reporting the 8-series will feature a turbocharge 3.0-liter engine as the entry-level. The tier up will come with a 4.4-liter twin turbo V-8 that can produce 445 horsepower.

BMW is promising that the production version of the coupe 8-series will be nearly identical to the concept. Only a few things will end up changing like the side mirrors and minor front-end tweaks.

Whatever the final version looks like, if it’s anything like the pictures above, it’ll be one gorgeous car.
