Square Enix continues to dominate the demo scene with Dragon Quest Heroes II now on PlayStation 4
Musou action just doesn’t do it for me
No matter what you dress it up in, Koei Tecmo’s successful formula has never resonated with me. Dragon Quest, The Legend of Zelda, even the original Dynasty Warriors games. Their action is flashy and fun, but it also feels shallow to the point where such exciting action seems so pointless. I’m hoping that one game comes along and delivers some much-needed weight to these games, and then maybe I’ll be able to sink my teeth into one.
Maybe Dragon Quest Heroes II will get that point across with its expansive approach to the formula. Square Enix hasn’t let me down with demos for NieR: Automata, Bravely Default, and Final Fantasy XV, so maybe it won’t here either.
Dragon Quest Heroes II launches on the PlayStation 4 on April 25.
