Square Enix is still getting the hang of PC ports, and many of its games are launching to mixed reception. NieR: Automata is the latest with complaints of a resolution glitch that displays 900p and stretches it to 1080p instead of displaying the game in true 1080p.
An unofficial mod now fixes this issue, allowing the game to be properly displayed in a true resolution. Not only that, it also smooths out all of the game’s frame rate issues, allowing the action to flow at a solid 60fps with no dips.
This mod comes with the stamp of approval from the number crunchers at Digital Foundry and the game’s fans over at Reddit.
