Now that Resident Evil 7 is in the world, I can no longer refer to Resident Evil HD Revelations as the most liked game in the series since Resident Evil 4 and 5. Capcom’s handheld hit-turned-HD-fan-favorite is no longer atop the critics’ charts as the sole survivor of a decade of meh from Capcom’s zombie franchise.
That’s fine, because it is still fully enjoyable even if Resident Evil 7 is taking the series in another direction. Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil HD Revelations will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this coming fall.

Capcom declined to offer more details on the project, but we’re willing to guess that 4K screen resolution and HDR support will be in the works.
Just a solid reminder, Capcom. The Switch has been on the market for two weeks now, and you haven’t announced plans for Resident Evil 4 to headline its line-up yet. Somebody check the books, because two weeks must be some kind of record for a new console!
Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll see both it and Resident Evil Revelations HD on the Switch if the console proves to be a hit with mature audiences.
