For years, Apple has fixed the price of its iPhones in Russia, a practice the company was just found guilty of by Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
The Financial Times reports Apple had illegally ordered retailers in Russia to fix the price of the iPhone, which began with the iPhone 5 and continued until the iPhone 6s. Apparently, if a retailer tried discounting Apple’s devices, the Cupertino company would order them to change the price. If a retailer didn’t comply, Apple would threaten to terminate their sales agreement.
