Marvel and Telltale’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy game won’t feature any of the actors from the film’s cast, Telltale confirmed in a press release yesterday, alongside a list of other details. I mean, it makes sense. Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper’s paychecks would likely each be bigger than the budget of the whole game. Instead, we’re getting a collection of talented voice actors who will probably do some spot-on impressions of the characters and maybe even put their own spin on them. The news will likely be a disappointment to some fans, however, even if it wasn’t ever a realistic scenario.
Here’s who we can look forward to voicing our favorite Guardians instead:
As you may have noticed, we get a much-needed break from Troy Baker. Instead, Rocket is voiced by Nolan North, who you may remember from every video game, including ones that Troy Baker is also in. Porter and Harrington have past experience acting in Telltale games among other things, while Eels and O’Brien appeared in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Watch Dogs respectively.
Since he won’t be in the game, enjoy this gallery of pictures of Chris Pratt:
