“LG apologizes for this inconvenience and is committed to delivering the best quality products possible, so all LG UltraFine 27-inch 5K displays manufactured after February 2017 will be fitted with enhanced shielding,†LG told Re/code. It sounds like folks who already have the display will need to get it outfitted with similar shielding, or perhaps send in their screens for a replacement unit.
LG’s displays were met with great fanfare when they were unveiled late last year, meant to serve as complementary devices to Apple’s new MacBook Pro computers. They clearly weren’t living up to snuff, though, particularly for folks who were keeping the displays too close to Wi-Fi routers, which caused them to act up. We’ll let you know if LG provides additional details on what current owners can do to get a fix.
