We might see keyboard and mouse support on the Xbox One, as suggested by Phil Spencer himself.
In case you didn’t know: yes, you can use a keyboard and mouse on the PlayStation 4. That option exists, though I personally don’t see a reason to do it beyond web browsing and chat.
In the case of the Xbox One, though? Halo Wars 2 seems like a perfectly justifiable reason for looking forward to keyboard and mouse support. RTS games are beautiful with mouse and keyboard. The two are a match made in gaming heaven, so it makes sense that a fan would ask Xbox boss Spencer about the potential on Twitter. Here’s the interaction:
@ryan89778 It won’t be there at launch but this is support we’d like to add as it comes to the Xbox platform.
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) January 30, 2017
Microsoft hasn’t really said anything officially about keyboard and mouse support on the Xbox One. However, here Spencer clearly says “as it comes†not “if it comes.â€
Sure, this could go absolutely nowhere, but mark this tweet down as a potential clue for support in a future update.
