Dell has a ridiculous 8K monitor that will melt your eyeballs

Retina display, shmetina display. Dell on Thursday officially unveiled a new 32-inch 8K monitor that features 1.07 billion colors and over 33 megapixels stuffed inside of a gorgeous aluminum chassis.

I know the 4K market is just now beginning to pick up—4K panels are everywhere at CES—but Dell’s monitor might convince you to jump straight from Full HD to 8K. By the way, the monitor’s ridiculous 7680 x 4320 resolution (280ppi) is four times the resolution of 4K and 16 times that of Full HD.

As beautiful as this monitor is, it isn’t cheap. When it launches at the end of March, the UP3218K will retail for $4,999, a lofty sum only attainable by a select few. If you’re heavily invested in content creation—photographers, graphic designers, designers—you might want to check the display out.

For everyone else, perhaps Dell’s excellent 4K monitor will do.
