Sydney Sweeney Ditches Blonde Hair, Goes Brunette With Bangs on Girls’ Day Out
Sydney Sweeney traded in her signature blonde bombshell look for a fun girls’ day out.
Sweeney, 29, took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 14, to show off a temporary makeover while going undercover at the Santa Monica boardwalk. For her incognito outing, Sweeney stunned in a brunette wig with shoulder-length locks and curtain bangs. She made the most of her day at the pier, riding rollercoasters, enjoying snacks, playing carnival games and more.
She wore the wig with black sunglasses, an oversized white T-shirt featuring “Santa Monica” written across her chest. Sweeney tucked the top into her daisy dukes and completed her look with white sneakers and ankle socks, as well as diamond stud earrings.
“When ur bestie shows up and says, ‘Here put this wig on’ 😂🥰,” she captioned the post, which also included pics of her friend in a blonde wig. Fans shared their shocked reactions to seeing the Euphoria star as a brunette in the comments section.
“I didn’t even recognise her,” one wrote, while a second added, “That you Hannah Montana?” A third commented, “Good disguise 😂👍🏻😆.”

Sweeney had a major hair transformation in November 2025 when she chopped her waist-length hair into a bouncy bob. That same month, she opened up about her decision while chatting with The Hollywood Reporter.
“So my hairstylist Glen Coco just wanted to be able to do something different and I’m his little science experiment,” she shared. “I love him so much [that] I let him cut and color my hair.”
She then added that she wasn’t immediately a fan of her bob. “It was such a huge change! I was a little nervous,” she explained. “I think my long hair became my security blanket,” Sweeney continued, “I always wanted it down [and] wavy. But I’m loving this.”
