North West, 13, Denies Her Style Is ‘Demonic’ or Linked to Parents’ Divorce
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s eldest daughter, North, is confident with her unique sense of style.
In a screen recording of North’s recent TikTok livestream, the 13-year-old shut down the idea that she looks “demonic.”
“Stop saying I’m demonic. No, I’m not. Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover,” North said, while Kardashian, 45, added in the video, “Yeah, I feel like people say that because of the black grills and just, like, piercings and stuff.”
“Yeah, but I don’t know why you guys should put that with demonic because I don’t get that,” North replied, to which Kardashian said, “I don’t think people really get it. But do you care?”
Elsewhere in the livestream, Kardashian defended North’s style and shared that the teen had been wanting piercings from a young age.
“When she was a baby, dropping her off at school, all she wanted was … her septum pierced or her eyebrow pierced,” Kardashian said, per a fan’s recording of the livestream posted to X. “She would do, like, a double brow, just like in pre-K going in with fake piercings.”
North chimed in to add, “So you guys can’t say, where did the style [come from], is this style from the divorce? No, queen.”
Kardashian and West finalized their divorce in 2022. The former couple are also parents to sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 7, and daughter Chicago, 8. In the past year, North has turned heads for her bold fashion sense by showing off a new look with blue hair, a black grill and piercings.
“Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff,” she told Dazed for a cover story in August. “All I want is blue hair and piercings.”
While reflecting on what she loves about piercings, North added, “They just make you your full self. I really want to get my bridge pierced, but I’m not allowed.”

Kardashian, for her part, has been supportive of her daughter’s aesthetic.
“She really is who she is and always has been, and so I nurture her,” Kim said on a January episode of sister Khloé Kardashian’s eponymous podcast. “I’m not a judgmental person like that, so I try not to pay attention to it. No one unless they’re in my shoes of what I’m dealing with and how we have to manage certain things from the outside world or even close in our life.”
She continued, “Northie actually has a lot of rules, [but] the one area is I do let her express herself and I let her do that. I love her for that.”
