Miss Thailand Contestant’s Teeth Fall Out During Live Broadcast
A contestant in the Miss Grand Thailand beauty pageant handled an awkward blunder with grace.
Kamolwan Chanago, 18, found herself in an unexpected viral moment when her false teeth slipped out during the live broadcast on Wednesday, March 25, which aired on the GrandTV YouTube channel.
Her natural smile was exposed as the dental piece dropped onto her tongue while delivering her speech during the preliminary round of judging in Bangkok.
Upon her realization, she turned around and popped her teeth back in before strutting on the stage in her glittering evening gown with sheer panels paired with an extravagant fur shawl.
Fans sounded off about the shocking mishap on social media. “Handle it like a champ 👏” one posted on the Mothership Instagram page, which covers news, current affairs and entertainment. “It’s funny but she handled it like the queen she is,” another replied. “Let this be a lesson to all young girls: no matter what you face, stand tall and own it,” a third resounded.
Attendees were also taken aback by the moment but praised her for not getting ruffled. “She handled this better than most of us handle a bad hair day. Is this the most iconic pageant moment ever?,” a spectator said, per the Associated Press.

A spokesperson for Miss Grand International addressed the incident in a statement with People on Friday, March 26, stating, “During her onstage introduction, Kamolwan Chanago experienced a minor and unexpected incident in which her veneer teeth became dislodged.”
“She handled the situation with professionalism and composure, and the event continued smoothly without disruption,” the spox added. “We are proud of her confidence and stage presence throughout the competition.”
Looking ahead, the upcoming coronation ceremony is scheduled on Saturday, March 28, at the MGI Hall. Whoever walks away with the crown will represent Thailand at Miss Grand International 2026 in India in October.
