Nicola Peltz Contradicted Claim Victoria Beckham ‘Canceled’ Wedding Dress
What really happened with Nicola Peltz Beckham’s wedding dress?
Nicola, 30, previously contradicted Brooklyn Beckham’s claims that Victoria Beckham “canceled” making her wedding dress back in 2022. While chatting with Vogue after her May 2022 nuptials with Brooklyn, 26, Nicola opened up about designing her dress with Valentino for a year.
“It was the ultimate couture experience,” Nicola’s stylist Leslie Fremar said, noting that they talked to the brand for a year, had two trips to Rome and two more fittings in the States.
Fremar continued, sharing how extensively they worked with Valentino, “The simplicity of it was magnificent. We didn’t have to overly detail the dress to accomplish the magnitude of it, so we ended up eliminating the embroidery.”
Nicola, for her part, said, “It was a no-brainer” to work with Valentino’s former creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli. “Seeing all the runway dresses in real life was so magical. It looked like someone’s dream closet,” she added.
Nicola again set the record straight in 2022 while chatting with Variety, sharing she was “going to” wear a Victoria Beckham design initially.
“I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” she said. “[Victoria] didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where [the rumors] started, and then they ran with that.”
In the same interview, Brooklyn cleared the air and said his family got along with Nicola. “Everyone gets along, which is good,” he said.
The couple’s previous comments contradict what Brooklyn claimed really went down with Nicola’s wedding dress while opening up about his family feud on Monday, January 19.
“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he wrote via his Instagram Story. “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”
In the same post, Brooklyn alleged that Victoria, 51, “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he wrote. “We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
The drama resurfaced in May 2025, when it was reported that Anthony, 57, called Victoria to the stage and said she was “the most beautiful woman in the room,” which allegedly left Nicola in tears.
“At the reception dinner, as is traditional, there were speeches and then the happy couple took to the floor for their first dance,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “After this, Nicola had a dance with her father, Nelson. And at this point, normally the groom would dance with his mom [and] for whatever reason, it didn’t happen then. There was a band, and everyone got up to dance after that.”

According to another insider, none of their guests realized Nicola was upset “as she stormed out of the room.”
“She returned later and appeared to be totally fine and the evening carried on to an afterparty with a DJ,” the source noted. “Everyone there was utterly mystified as to why Nicola would get so upset about her husband having one dance with his mom at their wedding.”
