Disneyland will host its first official Pride Nite this year to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and allies.
Not to be confused with Gay Days, which are organized by a third party, Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite will be held on two nights in June to coincide with Pride Month.
The new after-hours event debuts as Disney continues to come under fire for its inclusivity and opposition to Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law restricting speech on sexual orientation and gender identity in public school classrooms. But it’s not the first Pride event at a Disney park. Disneyland Paris Pride began in 2019, and Disney puts out a whole collection of Pride merchandise annually.
