Saturday’s March Madness: UConn Falls to Ohio State

Kansas State’s Ismael Massoud couldn’t get a shot off as time expired, and the Owls and their fans celebrated.

The Owls outrebounded the Wildcats, 44-22, thanks heavily to Goldin.

Since 2018, F.A.U. has been coached by Dusty May, a 46-year-old Indiana graduate who served as a student manager under Bob Knight from 1996 to 2000.

May has never had a losing season at F.A.U., and in January, the Owls entered the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time in program history.

“It’s awesome to have real college sports, it never existed before,” said Brian Schmier, an F.A.U. fan who lives in Boca Raton and attended the game with several family members.

The win by F.A.U. brought to an end the run of Nowell, who grew up in Harlem, and his Wildcat teammates. Kansas State had beaten Montana State, Kentucky and Michigan State to get to the round of 8.
