Rihanna will perform her ‘Black Panther’ hit, ‘Lift Me Up,’ at the 2023 Oscars

“Lift Me Up,” with music by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson and lyric by Tems and Ryan Coogler, is nominated for original song. It is the Barbadian superstar’s first Oscar nomination.

The song, which was also nominated for best song at the Golden Globes, peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Earlier this month, Rihanna, 35, dressed in an unzipped crimson red jumpsuit over a catsuit and bralette, plowed through a dozen of her hits in 13 minutes at Super Bowl 57 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The halftime performance doubled as an announcement to the world that she was pregnant with her second child.

The 95th Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air live on ABC on March 12.

Among Oscar competitors that Rihanna faces is Lady Gaga, who was nominated for “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick.” Gaga co-wrote the song with BloodPop and it’s her fourth nomination; she won an Oscar in 2019 for “Shallow” with Bradley Cooper.
