CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash special just lost a few of its performers.
The Zac Brown Band, Sam Hunt and Elle King have all withdrawn from the event for various reasons.
‘To Our Fans, We are deeply disappointed to share that Zac Brown Band will no longer be performing at Nashville’s Big Bash tomorrow night on CBS,’ the band’s leader wrote in a letter.
‘Despite taking precautions, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19.’

He continued, ‘While we were very excited to join the incredible line up of artists and millions of amazing fans tuning in to watch, our #1 priority is the safety and well-being of our fans, band, crew and venue staff. We’re looking forward to great things ahead and seeing you all on our tour next year. We wish everyone a safe, healthy and happy 2022! [Love] Zac.’
Neither Hunt nor King will perform at the event due to COVID-19 protocols, organizers told The Tennessean.
CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash special will run for five hours on December 31. More than 50 performers will take the stage for the event.

The list of notable country stars who are still scheduled to perform includes, but is not limited to, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton.
The Zac Brown Band’s performance would have kicked off a 2022 where they will play a few large shows. The group just had tickets for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, where they will perform next August, go on sale earlier in the month.
In addition, the group also released their new album The Comeback in October of this year.

Elle King released a pair of singles this year, one titled Please Come Home For Christmas and another titled Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home) which also features Miranda Lambert.
The program is set to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
