Chicago Rapper Says ‘Chi-Raq’ Is ‘Exploitative And Problematic’

Last month Lee responded to critics who criticized him for creation a film about Chicago to “rednecks” from a South during a Civil Rights era.

“That sounds like those strikebreaker crackers in a South. When Civil Rights people come down to Mississippi or Alabama, ‘These waste rousers come down here,'” Lee pronounced during an coming on  “Windy City LIVE.”

“And afterwards here’s another thing, people are saying, ‘You’ve never shown New York in a bad light,’” he added. “People are articulate things that have never seen my films. Go behind to ‘Clockers.’ ‘Clockers’ is 100 percent about black group murdering black men. But a lot of people are judging a film on a dual notation and 30-second trailer.”
