A prominent college football manager venturing into politics isn’t unprecedented, though. Nebraska’s Tom Osborne served 3 terms in Congress before losing a bid for administrator in 2006 after withdrawal a coaching ranks. Vince Dooley, after timid as Georgia’s manager following a 1988 season, quickly entertained a run for administrator in 1990 though opted opposite it. He motionless to stay on as a university’s jaunty executive and years after would sinecure Richt.
