Delaware football player charged with indecent assault at Penn State-Auburn game
A University of Delaware sophomore football player has been arrested and charged with assaulting female Penn State students whom police said he groped in the stands during a Sept. 18 football game at Beaver Stadium in State College, Pennsylvania, according to reports.
Penn State had issued a Timely Warning for a “possible threat to the community” regarding sexual misconduct after students reported, “an unknown male touched them inappropriately without their consent” during that evening’s game against Auburn.
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Liam Kirk, a Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, resident who attended Conestoga High School.
According to reports citing court documents, Kirk was charged with three counts of indecent assault, two counts of harassment and one count each of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He has a preliminary hearing Nov. 24.

Kirk is a running back who appeared in one game for Delaware during its 2021 spring season. He has not played in a game in the fall season and is not a scholarship recipient.
The recent attack of a female student by a male fraternity brother led to several on-campus protests and a massive march down Main Street to bring attention to domestic violence and protest the university’s slow response.
Penn State’s Daily Collegian reported Kirk’s behavior took place while he was “highly intoxicated” and that, since he was not a Penn State student, should not have been in that seating section. Citing court documents, the story said that he struck a pair of students and groped three others.
