Spike Lee Addresses ‘Chiraq’ Trailer Criticism Head On

Now, a filmmaker has responded to critics by clarifying a film’s context and introducing a new clip.

“The trailer was expelled and there’s several humorous moments in a trailer. Some people are removing it twisted, and meditative this is a comedy. ‘Chi-Raq’ is not a comedy. ‘Chi-Raq’ is a satire,” he pronounced in a shave posted on his 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks Vimeo channel

Lee combined that some other films, that he didn’t name, have taken a satirical proceed while highlighting critical topics.

“There are many films that we can demeanour in a story of American cinema that treated really critical theme matter and had amusement in them,” he said. “There’s an aged statement; ‘I gotta giggle to keep from crying,’ good we consider that’s suitable with ‘Chi-Raq’. Don’t get it twisted.”
