Kathy Griffin is still suffering from ‘vocal cord issues’ amid her cancer treatment.

The 60-year-old comedienne recently revealed she has had half of her lung removed after being diagnosed with stage one cancer and although she’s previously shared health updates in video messages on social media, her latest news came in the form of a typed message, in which she admitted she has also been struggling with her breathing and a cough.

‘One thing that sucks about cancer, it’s hard to focus on anything else when one is experiencing shortness of breath, deep coughing, pain, extreme fatigue in my case, vocal chord issues,’ Kathy wrote in an Instagram post that she shared on Thursday.

Candid:  Kathy has previously shared health updates in video messages on social media, but her latest news came in the form of a typed message, in which she admitted she has also been struggling with her breathing and a cough

However, Kathy could still see the lighter side of her condition as she loves using it to ‘clap back’ at her critics.

She added: ‘One thing that doesn’t suck about cancer…how shameless I am when clapping back at people who dare to sass Ms. Kathy about anything with ‘Really, d***head??? TRY CANCER!’ I cannot get enough of it.’

Kathy recently joked she had been working with her ‘celebrity voice doctor’ Sia to get her ‘voice back’.

Giving fans an update on Instagram, she wrote: ‘Working on getting my voice back with a special visit from my celebrity voice doctor. Enjoy!’

In the video, Kathy explained how she was struggling to talk.

She said: ‘Hi you guys. Here’s an update. So my surgery has been I think, three weeks and my voice is still hoarse as you can tell, but my doctor has been giving me vocal exercises. And the weirdest thing happens which is when I sing my voice is fine, like watch …’

Sense of humor: ‘The weirdest thing happens which is when I sing my voice is fine, like watch,’ she said in the video before she opened her mouth and the lyrics to Chandelier by Sia came out in perfect pitch

The Reveal: She then moved the camera to show Sia singing in her place while she lip-synched

She then started mouthing the words to Sia’s track Chandelier, only for her to move the camera and show Sia singing in her place.

She added: ‘Did I mention my doctor is Sia? Very strict.’

Kathy previously admitted she thinks her post-surgery voice will ‘scare people’.

She said: ‘I’d like to start to post little videos about my recovery and stuff, but my voice is like, really hoarse and I don’t want to scare people.’

But the star was quick to find the funny side of things, as her own croaky voice left her giggling.

She added: ‘I’m laughing, it’s just even that notion [is funny]. For some reason, I’m laughing at everything now. And if it’s horrible, I laugh way more!’
