Catelynn Lowell revealed she suffered another ‘heartbreaking’ miscarriage during the season finale of Teen Mom on Tuesday night.
The 29-year-old reality star discussed the trauma surrounding her previous miscarriages and giving up her daughter Carly for adoption when she was 16, and credited her strong mental health with being able to cope with the loss.
Catelynn experienced a miscarriage in 2017 which triggered anxiety and suicidal thoughts, leading husband Tyler Baltierra to help her find in-patient treatment at a facility in Tucson where Lowell learned how to manage her mental health.

And unlike in the past, Catelynn was proud of herself for being able to manage her mental health amid the stressful time.
‘It’s not overcoming me or making me spiral,’ she noted. ‘So I can tell that the mental health work that I’ve done has worked, but that being said, it still sucks. And you still have a moment of being mad at your body. It’s super hard and it’s a traumatic experience.’
The couple endured the difficult time in front of cameras and are now expecting once again as Catelynn is in her third trimester with a little girl due this summer.

They were featured on the original season of 16 and Pregnant where they made the difficult decision to place their daughter into adoption just days after she was born.
Catelynn and Tyler were ridiculed for their decision by friends and family, but both have shared through the years that adoption was ‘one of the BEST things’ they could have done for the little girl they named Carly.
‘I can’t believe that 9 years ago Tyler and I were waiting to go to the hospital to make one of the hardest decisions of our lives . . . but it ended up being one of the BEST things we could have done for her,’ Catelynn wrote on Instagram in May. ‘Carly we love you so much and are so proud of you! #birthdaygirl #adoptionjourney.’
