Anwar Hadid has changed his tune.
The brother of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid had said last week that he was anti vaccine and would ‘absolutely not’ be taking the COVID-19 vaccine. But on Monday the 21-year-old did a 180.
‘Im not “anti-vax” I think everyone has to be careful with each vaccine individually looking at positive and possible negative effects,’ he said, while adding he has indeed ‘taken vaccines before.’
Not anti-vax: Anwar Hadid, 21, clarified statements that painted him as an anti-vaxxer last week after he previously said he would ‘absolutely not’ be taking the vaccine, as he followed up Monday and said he is not ‘anti-vax’; pictured in July with girlfriend Dua Lipa
Hadid – who has been diagnosed with Lyme disease alongside former Real Housewife Of Beverly Hills mother Yolanda and sister Bella – said his compromised immune system plays a part in the matter.
‘I have taken vaccines before but as someone who has had a compromised immune system I want to continue to learn about the many ways I can protect myself and others,’ said Anwar, who used to date Kendall Jenner.

Hadid signed off, ‘I will be more aware.’
His initial dialogue about the vaccine came about in Q+A form on Instagram as he was asked, ‘Why are you anti vax’ after saying he would not take it.
‘Either I just don’t get it or I get it and go willing heal from it and get antibodies rather than do that process unnaturally, our bodies are made by the creator to do way more than we think,’ he wrote.
Anwar was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, shortly after his mother and sister, Bella, contracted the disease.
Interesting intel: The 21-year-old son of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda took to Instagram last week share a few of his views against vaccinations but was quick to clarify the statements on Monday
COVID-19 indications can appear completely asymptomatic or long-haul, flu-like symptoms, similar to symptoms described by people with Lyme disease.
The International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society defined Lyme disease as: a bacterial infection caused by several members of the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria and transmitted by the bite of an infected blacklegged tick.
The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines were recently approved and introduced in the United States, with more than 94 percent effectiveness rate battling COVID-19 after the second dose is administered.
In clinical trials only 16% of people experienced ‘severe’ adverse reaction which required medical attention or prevented them from going about their daily lives.
Lyme disease: Anwar, Yolanda, and Bella were diagnosed with the autoimmune disease around 2012 and COVID-19 indications can appear completely asymptomatic or long-haul, flu-like symptoms, similar to symptoms described by people with Lyme disease
Despite the seeming ease of the process, a quarter of Americans reported that they would ‘probably’ or ‘definitely’ refuse to get it in a survey taken in the late summer.
Nearly one million cases of coronavirus and 36,000 deaths have been documented in New York, where Anwar and girlfriend Dua Lipa are currently based after spending the majority of their quarantine in London.
To date, the United States has recorded 18million cases and 330,000 deaths, while global deaths are slowly nearing two million.
