Jeremih has a lot to be thankful for after recovering from COVID-19, with the rapper revealing he has a unique reminder.
The 33-year-old Chicago-born rapper spoke with Kendra G from the Windy City’s own WGCI 107.5 FM (via Kendra G YouTube) for his first in-person interview after recovering.
The rapper (born Jeremy Phillip Felton) revealed that he still keeps his hospital bracelet on as a reminder of all he’s been through.

Jeremih was first hospitalized from COVID-19 in early November, and by mid-November his condition worsened to the point where he was put on a ventilator.
He was taken off the ventilator less than a week later, though he remained in the intensive care unit for a few more days.

‘”[It’s] just a reminder of what I’ve been through,’ he said of the bracelet in his interview, though he offered another reason in jest.
‘At the same time, these types of bands [are] hard to take off too,’ the rapper joked, though he added there was a time he wasn’t sure he was going to make it.
‘After a couple of days, I just be looking at it … I just want to remind myself what I’ve been through,’ he added.

‘Sometimes, [I look at it] to remind myself [of] my purpose here on this earth. While [hospitalized] in there, I was unsure whether I was still going to be able to walk on this earth,’ the rapper said.
When asked if he will get the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to him, the rapper said he wasn’t sure quite yet.
‘I’m not sure yet. Right now, I’m good. I’m still taking shots from the hospital. So, I’m good for my shots right now,’ he said.

Just two weeks after his release from the hospital, Jeremih spoke with Sway Calloway on his Sway’s Universe program and spoke about his experiences.
‘I had a tube down my throat for about a week and a half. I was really in a dream. I woke up two times. All I remember seeing is a white light,’ he said.
“All my organs became inflamed. My heart started beating irregularly, my kidneys went out [and] my liver started to go bad. Mind you, I didn’t know what was going on at the time. I was out,’ he added.
