Nikki Bella ended her six-year relationship with John Cena because she didn’t want him to have any ‘regrets’ about starting a family.
The retired WWE Diva, 36, explained how the romance ran its course during an interview for Maria Menounos’ show Better Together, telling the TV personality that the pair simply ‘wanted two different lives.’
Though John, 43, eventually told Nikki he had reconsidered his stance on having kids and was willing to have his vasectomy reversed to make it happen, the Total Bellas star knew she couldn’t ‘force’ her partner to be a father.

‘Overall, we did have such an incredible relationship, it was just two people that wanted two different lives,’ the pregnant star told Maria. ‘We were trying so hard to make it one.’
But when it came down to it, Nikki knew they wanted different things in life and the couple decided to call it quits in 2018.

Though Bella – real name Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace – had always planned on having a family, her and Artem’s pregnancy was actually a surprise.
‘I kept getting these thoughts in my head to take a test. I did not think it would say positive at all,’ she told Entertainment Tonight’s Keltie Knight in February.

The star is over the moon about her pregnancy, especially since she and sister Brie are due just a week-and-a-half apart.
