The war against the Night King and his army of the undead might be over, but there’s one last epic showdown to come. HBO on Wednesday released images teasing a war at King’s Landing, where Daenerys and her armies have landing to stake her claim to the Iron Throne.
Of course, if you watched the most recent episode, you know that Daenerys wasn’t received warmly by Cersei, who demonstrated her power for all to see. Episode 5 is the penultimate episode for the show’s final season, and it looks like it’s going to be a big one.
With episode 3 of season 8 of Game of Thrones in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look ahead at episode 4. There has been a lot of reaction to The Long Night, and deservedly so. It was one of the most epic hours in television history, but it did feel somewhat anti-climactic give how easily the Night King went down. However, even though we felt somewhat let down, Jon Snow himself, Kit Harington, also felt cheated because he was on a dragon for most of the episode.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harington opened up about the experience of shooting The Long Night. He lamented the fact that he wasn’t on the battlefield to shoot those scenes, instead relegated to a studio where the dragon scenes are shot because dragons don’t actually exist in our world (unfortunately).
I was slightly pissed off I was on a dragon, it stops me from fighting in a crowd. It’s going to look cool but I wanted, in some ways — just as Jon does — to get back down on the ground. The fact he can fly a dragon means he has to but his place is down there amongst the sword swingers. But that whole episode should be mesmerizing.
After venting, he did say he is looking forward to Sunday’s episode because it’s a “what comes next” episode. Now that the biggest danger Westeros has ever has been defeated, what happens now?
One of my favorite episodes is 4 because the characters have seemingly got what they needed. The world is safe now. They’re celebrating and saying goodbye to lost friends. But as an audience you’re going, ‘This is only episode 4, something’s going to happen.’ And that’s the cool thing because I think the characters are aware of this as well. There’s something twisted and uncomfortable about it. It’s so Shakespearian.
It should be interesting to see how the North reacts. With the army of the dead defeated, it’s time to get behind Daenerys Targaryen and take down Cersei. That is easier said than done. As the first two episodes established, there is great division among the Daenerys and the North and that didn’t go away. With the Night King out of the way, those issues will come to the forefront once again and it should be entertaining.
Episode 4 is another supersized episode at nearly 80 minutes long and is directed by David Nutter, who helmed the first two episodes.
HBO has released a fresh batch of photos from episode 4 of Game of Thrones season 8, which will show the aftermath of The Long Night.
In the most recent episode—you can read our recap right here—the Night King and his army of White Walkers arrived at Winterfell, and not everyone survived.
Now that the battle against the Army of the Dead has been won, what’s the next move for Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen? The two have yet to fully address the bombshell news about Jon’s lineage.
Judging by the photos, episode 4 will likely be setup for another battle at King’s Landing, as Cersei and Daenerys vie for the Iron Throne.
The Army of the Dead is knocking on Winterfell’s door in new images from the final season of Game of Thrones, which teases an epic battle in the North.
Directed by Miguel Sapochnik, episode 3 is expected to feature a battle that rivals what we saw in Battle of the Bastards, which stands out as the series’ best. The episode will clock in at 82 minutes, which is about as long as many Hollywood movies.
Whereas the previous episode was all about gearing up for the big fight, these photos show the characters staring down death. Nobody is safe at this point, not even Jon Snow, judging by the frightened look on his face.
And although Varys and Tyrion look cozy in the depths of Winterfell’s crypts, the arrival of the Night King might have something to say about that.
The night is dark and full of terrors, and we’ll find out just how terrible things will get when the next episode airs on Sunday, April 28.
HBO has released 14 images from the second episode of Game of Thrones season 8. The images aren’t particularly noteworthy, though the one of Jaime Lannister standing in front of Daenerys teases a tantalizing showdown.
The images should tide fans over before the second episode airs this Sunday, April 21. If you aren’t caught up with the latest happenings around Westeros, check out our recap of Games of Thrones season 8 episode 1.
Last night the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones premiered and boy was it something else. We won’t recap it here, but we have recapped the episode in our weekly season 8 breakdown. What we will check out is the 21 images HBO released from the premiere. Before we continue, the images contain major spoilers.
A lot happened in the episode and the images perfectly capture a lot of those events such as Jon Snow riding a dragon for the first time and Tormund and crew exploring the empty Last Hearth castle only to be horrified by the White Walker’s limb-laden symbol.

The stage is set for the Great War of Westeros. HBO dropped the latest promo teaser for Game of Thrones season 8 and it is making one thing clear: survival is of the essence. There are a few important caveats to gleam from the short, 40-second trailer as it gives us some brand new footage we didn’t get from the trailer last month.
First, we finally see Jon Snow and Arya meet under the Winterfell weirwood tree for the first time since episode two of the series. Their two storylines took them in drastically different routes, but now the two are finally reuniting.
Then we get some more footage before a very intriguing scene that shows Daenerys Targaryen sitting in a room as a person comes up behind. It’s hard to see who it is as they are not the focus of the shot, but my guess is that it is Jorah Mormont. She does seem hyper focused and even sad in this scene.
Then the trailer continues to establish the fact that Jaime Lannister is going to arrive in Winterfell and help Jon and Daenerys in the fight against the army of the dead. He utters a line in voice over that sounds as if he is saying it directly to them when he first arrives.
“This goes beyond loyalty,” says Jaime. “This is about survival.”
After this, we get a lot of quick shots of the final battle against the Night King and his army of the dead. As you can guess, it is going to be a very bleak affair. Jaime is screaming in front of a fiery backdrop and Arya is running in a panic. It’s a quick but satisfying teaser.
Game of Thrones season 8 premieres April 14.

To commemorate the momentous occasion the Game of Thrones series finale will be, HBO commissioned a two-hour documentary to look back the the final season of the iconic series.

“It delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and car-parks of Northern Ireland…Much more than a ‘making of’ documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world —and then have to say goodbye to it.”

The long awaited trailer for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is here and it is a pulse pounding run for your life.
The Night King and his army of the dead are making their way to Winterfell to begin their conquest of Westeros. Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow and the rest of the heroes are ready to take on the new threat, but it’s not without an ominous tone being set. We already know this won’t be the happiest of endings, and if the trailer is any indication, it might even be a bleak affair.
We get some amazing shots of the dragons flying through the snowy land of the north. We’re not sure if this is in the Winterfell expanse or beyond the wall. We also see some of the key characters come together as Jon Snow returns to Winterfell and Jaime Lannister is ready to fight for the living. Something tells us we won’t be disappointed.
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly is solely focused on the upcoming final season of Game of Thrones. There’s plenty of juicy details about the upcoming season and the most intriguing part of it is the 20 new character portrait shots the issues contain. From Jon Snow cozying up with Daenerys Targaryen to the return of Melisandre, each provides a new look at the major players in season 8.
Additionally the new issues comes with in various new covers that each highlight a specific character. Most of them are expected like the one of Daenerys and Jon Snow, but the one that catches the eye the most is that of the Night King. Winter is indeed coming.
HBO has kept new details regarding Game of Thrones season 8, but slowly we are getting new info. The latest teaser comes from HBO’s 2019 sizzle teaser that highlight all of the new content coming out in 2019, including the final season for Game of Thrones. In it, we see the Unsullied and more importantly, Drogon, arrive at Winterfell where Arya sees the majestic dragon for the first time.
Unlike the rest of Winterfell resident that are scared of the Drogon, Arya seems to be overjoyed to see him. As we’ve learned in the past, Arya is an admirer of the Targaryen house, which likely means she’ll hit it off with Daenerys and Drogon right off the bat.
We anticipate the teaser to be part of the first episode of season 8 as last we saw Daenerys, Jon Snow and Drogon, they were on their way to Winterfell at the end of season 7.
