WestJet Airlines Ltd. says it will follow a lead of opposition Air Canada in banning pot use for staff in certain “safety-sensitive positions” even when they aren’t during work.
The association says it updated a ethanol and drug process in credentials for a legalization of recreational cannabis use subsequent week.
Spokesperson Morgan Bell pronounced employees were told of a changes on Tuesday morning.
She pronounced cannabis is being treated differently than alcohol, that is criminialized for certain staff members within 12 hours of entrance on duty.
