Alberta adds 406 seats to sight students in face of projected tech workman shortage

“We all know that Albertans need entrance to high-quality opportunities to attain in a tech sector,” pronounced Advanced Education Minister Marlin Schmidt.

The seats are partial of a five-year, $50-million investment into a province’s tech sector, and by 2023 Alberta skeleton to supplement 3,000 new seats in tech-related, post-secondary fields.

The programs receiving new seats, that Schmidt pronounced were selected formed on attention demand, are:

• 100 seats for NAIT’s digital media and information technology.
• 98 seats for SAIT’s information record diploma.
• 48 seats for SAIT’s object-oriented program growth certificate.
• 40 seats for a University of Calgary’s master of program engineering.
• 30 seats for Bow Valley College’s program growth diploma.
• 25 seats for a University of Alberta’s bachelor of computing science.
• 24 seats for NAIT’s mechanism engineering technology. 
• 19 seats for Lethbridge College’s mechanism information technology.
• 10 seats for Concordia University of Edmonton’s master of information systems declaration management.
• 10 seats for Concordia University of Edmonton’s master of information systems confidence management.
• 2 seats for University of Lethbridge’s masters of mechanism science. 

“Software engineering is something that we need in Calgary, Alberta and Canada and we need some-more of it,” pronounced Bill Rosehart, vanguard of a Schulich School of Engineering during a University of Calgary.
