As denizens of Donald Trump’s favorite swamp waited to watch Anderson Cooper’s 60 Minutes interview with porn star Stormy Daniels, bartenders across the District of Columbia prepared for a Dark and Stormy night.
The CBS newsmagazine planned to air the Daniels interview Sunday evening right after the NCAA Elite 8 matchup between Kansas and Duke, getting March Madness out of the way before Washington Madness ensued. In a highly hyped appearance on 60 Minutes, the adult film actress and director was expected to dish about her alleged 2006-2007 affair with Trump and a “hush agreement” she signed shortly before the 2016 presidential election.
Bars naturally draw plenty of customers during the NCAA basketball tournament, but they hoped to get patrons to stick around for the Daniels interview by offering drink specials.
For instance, at the hip new Wharf area lining the Washington Ship Channel, The Brighton featured a Stormy Daniels cocktail — Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, ginger beer and a splash of lime juice — for $10. And the bar planned to air the interview complete with audio, said Ashlee Proctor, host.

She said “a lot of people” called Sunday, wanting to know if the bar would be showing the interview and whether the sound would be turned up.
Up on U Street Northwest, the Satellite Room was offering the Dark n Stormy Daniels drink for just $2. That libation came from a mix of rum and ginger beer.
And to go with the viewing party alcohol, the chef at the Satellite Room designed a special food — a pizza with “extra orange” cheese.
